We like to collect all smaller, postable goods, as once an item is sold we often need to arrange immediate packaging and dispatch. Larger items such as furniture and fittings are photographed and then collected or removed by the buyer.

Sometimes collection is not possible from a client’s property, in which case we can remove your larger items for you. Basic removal and storage is charged in addition to our regular fees, and we can recommend our network of couriers, removalists and tradespeople. We always aim to keep costs to a minimum, just ask for a quote.

When we visit your property we appraise all items and suggest reserve prices for auction. As they are your goods, you get the final say on price.

Keep in mind that the right price is a big part of achieving the best sales result. If you are unsure, let us take care of things for you. It is what we do best.

To keep track of your auctions, simply use the Live Auctions link to view current listings via our eBay shop. We suggest logging in to watch the last five minutes of your seven-day auctions.

By that point there is often a bidding frenzy, as buyers tend to hold off before battling to win your goods. Once auctions close, we will email you the results along with links to the final sale pages from eBay.

We will have collected all postable items from you, so the moment your goods are paid for we ship them to the buyer. No bubble wrap or packing tape required on your part.

For larger goods still in your possession, we will either put the buyer in touch with you directly to arrange a suitable pick-up time, or have our drivers make contact. If needed, we can recommend a range of storage and transport services.

Once an item sells, buyers pay via eBay’s money transfer system or by cash on collection. Sell For Me provides an email summary outlining all sales and payment methods.

We then settle the account and transfer you the money from the sale, minus any fees. For cash sales, we will issue an invoice for our fees after the sales are completed.

Once sale items are photographed, we aim to list them online within 48 hours, often the same day if time is of the essence. Auctions run for seven days.

Once sold, postable items are generally paid for within 3 to 4 days, and buyers collecting larger pieces usually pick up within seven days. On a timeline? Let us know if you need things sold ASAP, or if you would like us to delay a sale for a specific date. We work in with whatever suits you.

Clients sometimes ask if we purchase goods outright. We can offer that service, but it may not be the most economical method of disposal, as we need to factor in removal and storage costs as well as resale margins.

That said, feel free to name a price. We will do our very best to offer you a healthy sum in exchange for your goods.
